Hi, Just to let you know, I just added a new story to my web site. www.geocities.com/pagestories See "New Stuff" Chas
That is good news Tim, I look forward to seeing it in Mike's BIT OF THE PAST section of the Madison Co web site. I knew he had many things in the fire and will be pleased to know they will be available to us. He loved what he was doing and did it well. He was a remarkable man. Chenango County: continuing work on Fairview cemetery - 3 sections left formatting Sherburne centennial material formatting 1860 census for Bainbridge ======================= Cortland County: continuing work on 1850 census alpha listing - 6 letters left formatting work on Cortland history ======================= Madison County: proofing/coding Hillside cemetery proofing/coding Oneida Presbyterian Church 1894 history transcribing New Woodstock history =========================================== Under the title that many hands make light work - as I've acquired a better way to get material out quicker to transcribers - I'm wondering if it would be of use to let you folks know by county what I'd like to have transcribers work on - what you could choose from? At present I have: Cortland - 2 active transcribers (James Knapp, asst CC as one of them) Chenango - 2 active transcribers (Elaine Decker, Mary Hafler) Madison - 3 transcribers (Pam Beger, plus 2 whom I've not heard from in a long, long time) Now to be fair there are others of you who have volunteered in the past, but I'd like to get a new group together and start fresh. I have waiting in the wings books (full or partial) for: Chenango - 5 (3 which just need coding) (1 in progress) Cortland - 10 (1 now being transcribed by James Knapp) (1 in progress) Madison - 11 (2 which just need coding) (3 in progress) These books / publications run from just a few pages to several hundred. Now I can with a couple of people helping eventually get these online - but the more the better / quicker it will be done. For those wondering what's involved - I would send you scanned pages of a section or chapter of a book, first a sample page to make sure you get it ok and can read it to transcribe from. If you could, then the section/chapter would be sent to you page by page. You would type up the selection and send me back a copy of your transcription. This could be in the form of a Word document, text, rich text format, some sort of word processing program. No need for you to worry about fancy type, italicized words, text size for I'd adjust that in the proofing / coding phase for my HTML editor strips out most of the formatting that word processing programs put in. I'd proof and format the material and place it online, giving you credit for the transcription. Interested parties please contact me. Thanks, Tim
..my health is not good, I don't think I could be depended on, on a regular schedule of any kind. BUT, I saw a new doctor this week, and if we can get me into 'remission of symptoms,' I would volunteer to help. I'll let you know later in the year. Just so you know, and it's no big secret, I have a condition called fibromyalgia, complicated by some other little things, like diabetes. ...I love this website, you all are so cool.....Loo, of the Rockwell line/Albuquerque ----- Original Message ----- From: Tim Stowell Sent: Friday, February 18, 2005 11:43 PM To: NYMADISO-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [NYMADISO] update of sorts 2/19/05 - call for volunteers Chenango County: continuing work on Fairview cemetery - 3 sections left formatting Sherburne centennial material formatting 1860 census for Bainbridge ======================= Cortland County: continuing work on 1850 census alpha listing - 6 letters left formatting work on Cortland history ======================= Madison County: proofing/coding Hillside cemetery proofing/coding Oneida Presbyterian Church 1894 history transcribing New Woodstock history =========================================== Under the title that many hands make light work - as I've acquired a better way to get material out quicker to transcribers - I'm wondering if it would be of use to let you folks know by county what I'd like to have transcribers work on - what you could choose from? Tim, Dont know your Email but I am researching the Stone Family I am looking for Nancy Stone born abt 1824. Gigi
I'm looking for any descendants of MICHAEL J. DUNN bn. abt. Nov. 1857 in N.Y. His parents were JOHN DUNN of Ireland bn. abt. 1827 and Lidia of England bn. abt. 1832. Michael married Elizabeth bn. July 1857 in N.Y. Their children were: Lidia A. bn. Nov. 1882 (probably named for his mother) Frank son bn. Sept. 1884 Mary, daughter bn. June 1887 John bn. Appr. 1889 Leo bn. Feb. 1893 Margaret bn. June 1899 He lived on Broad St. in Oneida the same St.. his mother lived with his siblings in 1870 census. She had married a Wm. J. Knowles. Lidia, I am told died in the early 1870's. Michael named his children after his siblings Frank, Mary, John and Margaret. Hopefully, if there are any surviving descendants of this family I am eager to hear from them. There are still many unanswered questions in my progress with Michael's mother Lidia... as to her parents, and when she died and where she was buried. She was my husband's G. Grandmother. Anyone have any info on them, please write. I know the number of Dunn's in New York make it difficult to trace the family but since I have been able to advance two generations it gives me hope. Thanks for any help. Phyllis
Are there any STONE family researchers here besides Pat? If so, please contact me privately. Thanks, Tim

List, I know this is a bit off topic but thought since this happened to me today I should forewarn you all. Just recently I replied off list to a very nice individual to a request that they had regarding a certain person in their family. I had gone to Ancestry, clicked and then sent the person the e-mail page. There wasn't a problem when I sent it nor when the person got it did they have a problem getting it. However when the person wrote back to thank me, along with the e-mail came notice of an attachment with about 6 files inclosed. Assuming it hat it had come from the individual that I had gotten the thank you e-mail from I opened it. You can imagine my surprise when I opened it up and found my husband's personal info that he had recently sent to SS. I didn't even stop to look in the rest of the files to see what was there I was so shocked by what I did find. I immediately called my husband and had him check it out. He was of course shocked as well. He told me that a while back he had sent that particular info to SS but that had been about a month ago. He tried to get rid of it thinking that it had been a worm or virus and had quite a time doing it. I am not sure if he really did or not. I wrote to the person that I got it from and they assured me that they had not attached any thing onto the e-mail that they had sent me and I do believe them. And I again checked in my sent box to see if I had sent them an attachment not realizing that I did and the answer was no. About the same time that I sent the first individual the info they were looking for, I send another individual their's also basically the same thing. When they wrote back there was no attachment that came back with their thank you. I thought it only decent on my part to share this with the list just incase they happen to receive something similar or that something similar might happen to them as well. Last year, I had a worm attack me very badly. I was able to get and receive e-mails ok but to get on the net and use other features on my computer I could not do. Even my fire wall and virus checker which was brand new had been disabled. It took my husband a 2 hour phone call with Microsoft tech services to get it fixed. I would like to hear back from any of you that might have also had a similar problem to day. Joan
Dang it- 40 days- I feel lucky to at least to have had a house left to sit in the dark in- Hubby does screen rooms and the likes- and he says supplies are hard to come by right now-for almost everything-and watch out for the insurance adjuster- have some estimates all ready for them when they come- if not they come-look- and then send you a check with a letter that says by cashing this check you agree with our estimate- have some ready for him when he comes-may save you some time and trouble- Peggy ----- Original Message ----- From: <PNUTREG@cs.com> To: <NYMADISO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 16, 2005 10:26 PM Subject: Re: [NYMADISO] Boook of names > Hi Peggy > > I know what you mean with the Hurricanes.
