Hi list, Does any one know about a Rome State School where young children you had disabilities might have been placed? And what county that Rome is located in? Joan
Peggy - If you know the approximate month of the accident try the Syracuse Post Standard Newspaper and their archive dept. www.syracuse.com/archive If you know the accident happened within the hamlet of Cicero, NY - write the Cicero Volunteer Fire Dept. and see if they may have that record as one of their rescue calls www.cicerofd.org do you know the name of the funeral director for the burial? Contact them and perhaps they could give some info. Some suggestions for you. Pat
Hello,my grandmother saved the obit, but did not save the date- but I think it may have been in around the 1975 time frame-just said it was a multi-car accident-sounded like a pretty big accident. I wish I did know more, but I do not-live in Fl. so finding out is not an easy thing- Thanks for the offer anyway. Does anyone know how far away Stockbridge is from Wampsville? Does Stockbridge have a library? Thanks. Patty
Yes, it's tax season and that's what I'm working on. I've pulled the first all-nighter in a long time. I did get 2 hours sleep, rising at 1 AM to do taxes. Genealogy has taken a back seat. On the other hand - Fairview cemetery in Chenango County is coming back online, section by section. http://www.rootsweb.com/~nychenan/cemetery.htm --------- Also continuing work on the 1885 history of Cortland county and the DeRuyter historical book for Madison county. I find it interesting that there are numerous mentions of the neighboring towns / people across the county lines. I'm excited about the upcoming material for Homer, for I've already learned quite alot from it. I'm trying to place material online for all three counties that while rich in history are also chock full of names, so that while you may find out that your ancestor did this or that, you also just find them. It seems that while many left quite a legacy, others seemed to tiptoe through counties, leaving hardly a trace of their passing through the years. Tim
The "Cazenovia Pilot" started in 1808; others I know of did not start til the 1830's and later but there were many newspapers I do not have abstractions for so no dates on them Sharon
Would anyone know what paper would have reported a Pooleville death in 1816?
