Valerie, Hello , Valerie I'm only 6 months into names searches sooo, please dont think this is exspert advise. But I was Wondering If You knew The name Cameron is associated with The Acadians. I am researching several family lines . Besides my Watson . They are Russell, Blanchard, Dumus, and Ricard I knew they were French Canadian But only discovered this morning that they are Acadians . which this is the jest of my understanding of todays discovery. That they were throws aways of the British there original origins are unknown ,However theres many theories that differ from one historian to the other. There is a interesting tidbit That the name acadian can be found in a greek term and I beleive I read that the translated term was associated with a place in greek . I then read where the Brittish sent a few thousand of these peaple in exile to Canada and only a small percentage ever made the journey alive. The Ones that did are the Acadians and we know them as French canadians, Then later when the Brittish needed to set up camps in Canada . these peaple were once again exiled and scattered. Some went thru the woods to places in upstste Ny. and others went to Louisiana and are called Cajuns. There are other classifications of which I didnt absorb on my first reading. I beleive It was the Brittish But maybe the Canadians that spent mega bucks doing the geneology on these peaple. There is much info done..... And the Camerons were one family that was done. I've been keeping my eyes open for you from your other postings , because , I saw the name many times while searching my own family in Canada , But of coarse woundnt you know I couldnt back track to them, Of coarse not all dumus and ect. are all French Canadian Some came directly from FRance. and so it may be in your case. But remember the saying of birds that flock together, Well i hope i digested enough this morning to have my facts right. If you or anyone is interested in reading what I found ,I'd be glad to forward it. And does any one else think how peculiar it was for the Gov. to do the geneology on these folks at their cost? Whats the significance? esp when their were repeatedly exiled. Another thought I've had since I started this geneology study .I've entertained the notion of How our Gov. is involved in helping open doors for this pursuit ` I wonder if it would ever be used against us. I would imagine Hilter had to of been involved in genological study , inorder to seperate the races and Its no secret that each world leader has been trying to produce the perfect race and now we've come to cloning, Is this the answer now to who to we clone? Hmm dont mind my notions is sounds more bizzare Than I am. But whenever I get these notions .They do happen. I would love some feedback on this .Thanks and Valerie let me know if you want to investigate The info I found Today. Warning I found lots, Its either feast or famine. Connie
John, When you get the kinks out will you please look for MITCHELL in your Madison Village Cemetery listing? Date: Tue, 31 May 2005 17:41:31 +1000 Hello to all I have the complete list of burials at the Madison Village Cemetery and will be glad to look things up until I can get it online. Wifey also took about... I dunno... a zillion pictures while we were there, and I will work on the Madison Center Cemetery asbestos I can. The 'Center' cemetery, unfotunately, will be incomplete, as many of the stones have tipped over or are possibly buried under the dirt - I may have 60% or so of the cemetery and the town clerk says she doesn't know of another earlier list so this may be as good as it gets for awhile... Hello, Listers. I am checking to see if anyone on this list is a resident of Eaton or is familiar with the town as I am wondering if what is now the "Eaton Community Church," and what used to be, at various times, either the Baptist Church or else the Congregational Church, could also have been the Methodist Church? If not the Methodist Church, where was it located? Final question, and this is to an Eaton resident, what is the address of the house immediately east (I guess, towards the cemetery) of the Community Church, which is on Brooklyn Street? I have a picture of that house which was taken at least 125 yrs. ago and thought that the current owners might like to have a copy. I also have a picture of another house in Eaton, but clueless as to why it has been saved all of the years. Thank you. Doug

In 1899 the pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church was Rev. B. W. Goossens. I've received a query as to what became of Rev. Goossens, when he died and where he is buried. Does anyone have knowledge of such? Thanks, Tim

Hello to all Well... I want you all to be the first to know the address to a new page I have just put up. I haven't revamped my main index yet, so you won't find this important item there yet. It's the obituary of L. M. Hammond, from the Madison County Leader and Observer, and I believe (to the best of my ability) that it comes from the June 25, 1914 edition. The reason I am not sure is because the clipping did not include the newspaper's full heading. After a little researching, with what I had to work with, I am quite sure that the source is correct, for anyone interested. Since this page is comprised of 3 scanned images, it may take some time to load. If you have any problems with the page, please let me know, and I do plan to transcribe the article in the future. http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~ameralia/luna/index.htm Hope this finds you well and in the best of spirits, John
