    3. If you use the spreadsheet, "Census Tracker", please be aware that 1820 is not accurate. In the 1820 census, the 16-25 column was divided into 2 columns (16-18 and 19-25). I have notified the originator and perhaps he will make the changes necessary. To listings: My apologies for using this method to communicate but I felt that all listers should be aware. 2. Tim Stowell
    3. If anyone has info or comment on the following please contact Mr. Thompson and this list. Thanks, Tim --------------------------------------------------- I thought for sure the THOMPSON's lived in Madison Center area, from 1811 until about 1834, when several family of them moved to Erie Co. NY. We had found a listing for an Isaac T. who died in 1811, and is listed as being buried on the high hill, in Madison Center, it was known as the Old Meeting House Burying Grounds. In fact Thomas THOMPSON [b. 1753] had a son named Isaac who would have been 32 years old in 1811, the same information on the marker found in that cemetery by Trey Williams, who is now restoring that old cemetery, and recently located that old marker again. But now, because census records from 1820 and 1830, list the THOMPSON's in Hamilton, not Madison, we are thinking that we may be wrong about Isaac, and in fact they may have lived closer to Hamilton. Thomas probably died before 1820, as his wife shows up in Hamilton in the 1830 Census and in 1840 in Erie Co. Thanks for any help or suggestions you may have for me. Are there any tax or poll records that go back that far that you know of, perhaps some THOMPSONs owned the land where that Thompson Cem. now sits. Denny Thompson dna@newnorth.net

    3. Posted as a query on the Cortland County site and sent to these lists in order to broaden the approach for this veteran: The Cayuga County Veterans Office, Auburn, NY is trying to locate a relative of Stanley PARKS who was killed in action during World War II. His mother was Nancy (ALLEN) PARKS who lived at 39 Mildred Ave., Cortland. His bother's name was Harley PARKS. We are trying to locate a picture of Stanley for our World War II Memorial Book to be published by Veterans Day 2005. Nancy's sister was Mrs. Stella FORD of Madison. Please help us to honor this veteran. Thank you. veterans@co.cayuga.ny.us - Georgianna Tracy Tim Stowell tstowell@chattanooga.net Chattanooga, TN

    2. Hi Karl You can go through the service for Out of State inter Library Loan. I live in Fl and use it from time to time without any problem. You go to your Main Library and request the Census film and when they receive it you need to use it at the Library. Here is how to obtain it. Outside New York State The New York State Library only accepts interlibrary loan requests from libraries. Books and microforms are lent, when possible, for six weeks. Within copyright restrictions, photocopies of portions of non-circulating materials may be provided. The New York State Library charges a base fee of $10.00 for all filled out-of-state and foreign interlibrary loan requests. Out-of-state libraries and foreign libraries receive no free photocopies. The New York State Library bills for shipping charges for out-of-country requests. All RUSH requests from out-of-state or foreign libraries will have the RUSH surcharges added on to any out-of-state fees. RUSH charges include a base charge of $25.00 plus additional copying and transmission charges. (See RUSH Request Service and charges.) Regards Pat R

    3. Thanks for the census info, the listing had info that conflicted with my info and as a result of further research, I found more information that is of interest. The info also told me I need to get a hold of the 1855 census to find John (he was 82 and prob. lived with a son or daughter); LDS does not have a copy and since I am in CA - I can not interloan from a NY library so if anyone knows a source where I can get a copy, please let me know.
