Chas Thanks for this. I know a lady in Canastota who has encountered the Colclough family of Munnsville in doing research on a connected family. Although she doesn't have e-mail, I'm going to tell her about this contact and perhaps act as an intermediary. I have been researching my family history, and most of my family from my fathers side is from Madison County, although I have just learned this recently. I was wondering if you know anyone by the last name of Colclough or Lindsley. My great grandparents grew up in Munnsville and Stockbridge and I think that I still have extended family that lives there. I also think that many of my ancestors are burried in Madison County. I am very interested in learning more about this area, what it was like in the early 1900's, and whether you might know of my relatives. > > Sincerely, > > George Colclough Jr. > Springfield, MA > > (currently stationed at Ft. .tiff files are a type of photo file,. Much like a jpg or jpeg Right click the .tiff file and select a photo viewing software to look at them before tossing them. Also, it is quite possible your computer automatically backs up all of your files. To check that I would use your finder for a file that you want to keep and see if you have multiple copies of it. Can't say I know what a dat file is, except to say it is a data file. Anytime I open a document/file and use the incorrect software I either get a gobblety-gook of stuff or it tells me the file cannot be opened with the software I've selected. To you smart listers, When I go to "my pictures", along with my folders, it lists a whole string of "dat" and "tif" files. about ninety some. when you bring them up there is a lot of gobblety-gook. So I highlight and delete the whole bunch. Next day they are back. So if I can't get rid of them, I decide to put them in a folder. I do that, but the next day they are back individually in"My Pictures, again. How do I get rid of them, and how come just those particular ones, relating to cetain pictures are listed. If you read through the gobblety you can, with difficulty, see which pictures they relate to. ????????????????? Chas???????????

Can I be first? Patty runs around the list whooping it up with joy. I was up until 3 a.m. this morning poking around the internet and came up with a kind of break-thru. I found a wedding announcement for one of my pain in the butt g-grandmother's sons. He lived in Wampsville but married a Mildred Flagler who apparently lived in Oneida. They were married in St. Joseph's Church in 1929. They were attended by Miss Margaret Dunham and Theodore Taylor. If anyone is looking for any of these names, I'll type it up. Maybe I can help someone. Patty

Don't we live in amazing times when we can have such a close community of people on this list, spread all over the world and most of whom have never met and never will meet. It's a virtual general store where friends meet; memories are shared and tales are told - tall and otherwise. I wouldn't give up this list for anything, even if I didn't have any connection at all to Madison Co. Tink At 04:42 PM 3/1/2008, you wrote: >Safe trip, Tim. Thanks Chas. That will be easy. Living in CT., it's hard to get there when I want to. Monday is suppose to be in the 50's and I have to go to Albany, so it will be a quick hop, skip, and jump to Lenox. Hopefully my g-grandmother will stop being a pain in the butt for awhile. LOL. Patty p.s. After this trip, I'm declaring to be a relative to everyone in Madison Co.!!!
