    3. No, it's not your machine. I got the same thing. But I did put "searchme" into google and got this site: http://www.searchme.com/about/ Nothing like using a search engine to find a search engine! 3. Fixing broken links I ran across this massive map site: http://www.wnylegacy.org/index.php under which is the Holland Land Company Maps at the State University of New York (SUNY Fredonia). These maps are mainly about New York state and western New York at that - from Herkimer west, but also contain early maps from Pennsylvania to Maine to Georgia and points in between. I spent a fascinating evening poring over these old maps. Tim Stowell Chattanooga, TN

    3. Hi Dick, Yes, Wilford and I have communicated often. I think I've sent him everything I have on the family from Ca. Luther Smith Woolsey Jr. died out here. One never knows if someone else has come up with something over time. Another list I am on with the Mead family indicate that there is a connection to the Hall's within the Mead family. There was also a connection to the Halls on Luther Jr.s wife's family. That's what prompted me to basically see if there is anything new going on. Appreciatively, marilyn in Sacramento, Ca. 2. Tink Miller
    3. Hi Bonnie, They ask you to register your name and email address, but there is no charge involved. It is free access. They will send you some email messages afterward with information and special offers. You can easily unsubscribe from getting those messages and they will stop. Just follow the instruction that is included in the messages to stop the emails. I know some people object to registering. To me it's a small inconvenience for free access to a huge cache of information. You can view and print out copies of any U.S. Military information on the site, including images of original military documents, at no cost. I'll just point out to those who haven't logged on yet, when the website comes up, there is a box in the middle of the page to enter your name and build a family tree to store on the site. Ignore that box and scan down to the bottom of the page where the "search" window is located. After you enter your search criteria, it will pull up a list of possible matches. When you click on any of the links on that list to "see the image", then the registration screen comes up. That's where you enter your name and email address for access to the images in the military databases. 1. [NYMADISO] looking for info about undertakers Daley and Evans possibly of Brookfield. That would have been in existence in 1914
    2. M. Joan Meddaugh
    3. Hi all, I am looking for the undertaking firm of Daley and Evans that would have been in existence in 1914. I just found out that my great uncle James H. Beebes body was taken care of by them and that burial was in Brookfield but I don't know where. I have looked at the various cemeteries on line and can not find where he is buried. He lived in Cazenovia when he died. Any help is appreciated. Joan in Candor, NY

    1. [NYMADISO] for those of you researching the Beebe line here are three obits on the family of James H. Beebe
    2. M. Joan Meddaugh
    3. Hi all, Thought those of you who might have a Beebe connection might want to add this bit of information to your research. To those of you who are researching the family of Cyrus, Judson and Hiram Beebe of Brookfield, NY and their children particularly the family lines of Hiram and Ellen A. Hills Beebe, of Brookfield and their children William, Lela and James H. Beebe you are in for a nice surprise especially about James H. Beebe who was thought to be a bachelor his whole life. I thought that was the case as well until I located a 1910 census that indicated him to be a widower. Even though his name is spelled wrong this is my James no doubt about it. He was definitely married and I have his obit and the obits of his wife and children to prove it. The first to pass away was his infant son James H. Beebe Jr. who died at 21 days old of what I am not sure. This was in Nov. of 1908 Second to pass away was the mother, Josie Detlor Beebe age 24/25 who died of Typhoid, she died about Nov. 24/25 of that same year. Third to die was her husband Jame H. Beebe. Sr who died of heart problems September, 1914, and the last in the family was daughter Gladys who by that time was living with her grandmother Lydia Detlor in West. Carthage. She was only 9 years of age and died of diptheria. If anyone wants the complete obits I will be glad to send them off line. Joan
