I was asked by a 83 year young neighbor to see if I can find any of her Jones relatives. Frederick Jones (1864-1943) married Adah E. Tibbitts (1870-1963). They were her grandparents. Her mother and father were: Elmer L. Peck (1889-1958) and Ruth Jones (1897-1962). Would anyone on this site have any information for me? (I found Frederick's stone in Sunset Hill cemetery in Clinton, NY) Any answers? Thank you dr. ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com
Thanks Dorothy. I'm not related but this brought back a memory. One of my uncles worked on that farm. I was there a couple of times and caught glimpses of Shirley. I was very young but I still remember her long blonde hair. The other thing I remember is, my uncle telling me to stay away from where the bull was. I asked why. There's no way I can repeat what he told me. Thanks, Dorothy, for thinking of us. I am looking for a Carpenter family with 11 children as my g-grandfather was the youngest of 11. But he was born in 1830, so not this one exactly. It could be some descendents of his family, though. I wish I knew other siblings names. The oldest sibling was RoxyAnna, b. in 1812 and married Asa (Asahel) Luther. If any of that rings a bell with any Carpenter researchers, please contact me! In todays obituaries (syracuse.com) there was listed a 98 yo lady named Laura Carpenter Galster who was one of 11 children in a Carpenter family from Hermon, NY. She was the widow of Wilber (Hale) Galster. There is quite a lengthy obituary as one would expect from a lady of this age. I thought I would post it as there were 11 children in her family. Sorry it did not give her parents names. I think surprisingly because of her age, she is survived by 4 of her siblings and they are listed in the obit although not their places of residence. Hi gang and Happy Fourth of July. Isn't it wonderful to be in the land of the FREE? This is to my Payne cousins. Just recently I ran across a person listed in her information that my grandmother May A. Payne ( Beebe) daughter of Truman and Olive Payne) of W. Eaton, had been married to a ? Wetmore. Is there any way I can confirm this? It would be most interesting to be able to find out more. I do know that Grandma May was married to my grandfather on Dec. 18, 1890. I have a little blurb about her wedding that someone was kind enough to send me. I would love to get my hands on her marriage certificate if possible. If you wish rather than go through the list contact me at my private e-mail. [email protected] Hope to hear from some of my cousins. Thanks in advance. Joan Beebe Meddaugh granddaughter of Will L. Beebe of Earlville and May A. Payne Beebe formerly of W. Eaton, NY. ____________________________________________________________ Are you safe? Hi all - Does anyone know where Rev. Phillip P. Brown and his wife Betsy are buried? He was a Baptist minister and appeared in the 1860 and 1870 census in the Town of Madison. I suspect he might be buried there but which cemetery? He died in 1876 and I believe his wife died before 1870. Thanks, Donna B.
Hi Joan, I made a quick search of the census records for May Wetmore, to test the theory that your grandmother may have been married to a Wetmore before marrying your grandfather. There is no evidence that this was the case. In 1880 your grandmother, age 10, was living in Eaton with her widowed mother and older brother Willis, age 25. So she was about 20 when she married your grandfather. I suppose it is possible that in the late 1880's she could have had a brief marriage to a Wetmore before marrying your grandfather, but retained or returned to her maiden name. However, I did find another May A. Payne, born 1871, in New Berlin, Chenango Co.,NY. Since she's almost same age and name of your grandmother, maybe she's the one who married a Wetmore? I also have an Armenia Brown in my family. In 1930 census, she is maried to William Ward. Her father Leroy is living with them in Fenner. I also have a picture of a man whom I believe is Leroy Brown. Theree are Ward's and Pameter"s in picture. Hi list, What is the possibility of some one getting me the following death information even if you have to copy it. Cyrus Beebe Sr. Wife Rhody not sure when Phoebe his second wife Cyrus Beebe Jr. His wife And any children. We are on a fixed income so if I had to pay you it would be very little but the time would be appreciated. I know in our county copies of death and Birth and marriage can be made on a xerox coppier for about 25cents a piece. I don't mind paying that but $10.00 a copy is way out of our league at the present. Thanks for any help you can give. ____________________________________________________________ Click here for great computer networking solutions! http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/fc/Ioyw6i3oHgMXOJAxHh9RJLesnoDSPjhWC93TQXvDyPCgmoX4Gs6958/
Hi Dorothy, I believe that my James and Leroy did live in the town of Cazenovia/ Fenner area and I always wondered if we had Moroah's name spelled correctly. My grandmother used to tell how the house she lived in, in the city of Oneida, was moved from the Fenner area, but I can't recall if it was her family's home or her husband's. I do recall my cousin talking about an Armenia in the family, but for some reason, I haven't inserted her into my computer files. I will have to go back through all of my paper work to find out more about her. Thanks so much for all of the info! This James and LeRoy and my James and LeRoy probably are not the same because my James was born in 1815. Having said that your James and LeRoy did live in the town of Cazenovia in 1860 and in the town of Nelson in 1870. Your James wife was Meroa (spelling in 1860 census). The transcriber spelled it Mroa. In the 1860 census taker spelled it Mercy. Common mistakes in Census takers. I think most of it was taken verbally and they just took their best guess and then some of the census takers were not the best with handwriting. In 1910 LeRoy was a widowed farmer living in Madison County, town of Fenner. His 76 year old Mother Meroa was a widow and living with her son at the time of that Census.- Now an interesting thing that I have found on the 1880 census is that Armenia the daughter of LeRoy and Mary was listed as a 3 year old on the Nelson census taken on the 4th and 5th days of June 1880. I also found her with her grandparents, Meroa and James in Fenner on the 6th day of June 1880. So she was obviously counted twice. Fenner and Nelson townships adjoin each other and perhaps the little girl was spending the night with her grandparents. Interesting. Sorry about the other James and Leroy. Barb or whomever was doing the search for Leroy And Mary Brown. In the 1880 census There is a James Brown and Mary Brown, Hired Hand and domestic servant, respectively who lived with Betsey, Adelbert and Arad Howard in the county of Madison, town of Nelson. He was 25 yo and Mary was 22 yo. They had a child of 3 named Armenia (f) at that time. This census was taken on the 5th day of June 1880. It indicates that Mary's mother was born in Michigan but all of the other parents and Mary and LeRoy were born in NY. Probably this could easily be your LeRoy as yet I can't hook him up to one of my Browns but I will check out the 1860 Census. If you want more information I have Ancestry.com so can look up the 1860, 1870 etc. for you . LeRoy's (b 1855) father was James b. 1815. James was the son of Jabez Brown who was the son of Levi Brown who was a revolutionary war soldier. At least these are my James and LeRoy Browns **************Gas prices getting you down?
