This was a question from Dan's web site. I've been unable to find this name in his Fenner listings: >His grandfather died on January 25, 1928 in Fenner, NY. I have the >death certificate. His name was George Washington Hibbert. He is >listed as a Farm Laborer. The informant was his wife: Mrs. George >Hibbert, RFD, Cazenovia, NY. The place of burial was Fenner, New >York on January 28, 1928. The undertakers were Daley and Evans. > By April 1930 the family was living in East Syracuse, New > York. The death certificate was registered on January 27, 1928 > and signed by J. D. Sullivan. The physician was A. R. Morrow, > Cazenovia, New York. > He had a child, George Washington Hibbert, III that was born > in Hampton, NY on September 10, 1926 so they moved to Fenner > sometime after that. Perhaps as early as spring of 1927. There was > another child, Rose, born May 1928 most probably in Fenner. > Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. We > have no idea where they were living in Fenner and where George W. > Hibbert is buried. This is a repeat of a query from 2005 on the same subject for which no reply has been forthcoming. Tim

There has been Galusha's in Cortland for some time. I went to school and lived a few houses away from one family in the 50's-60's. If you ever get a chance to see "The Wall" of Veitnam soldiers who were killed, one of the Galusha boys is on there. In researching some of my early New England states families I have come across the surname in the 1700's. Sharon
I should have included the information that Theodore Dreiser was the author of An American Tragedy. He wrote books on social themes. Tim, Thanks for your reply. Elissa had already responded with Vianna WHITFORD. That rang a bell. Two NICHOLS brothers (L. Eugene & Erastus) married WHITFORD sisters (Katie & Vianna). After Erastus' death, Vianna remarried to George Allen. Mystery solved. Thanks to all, Jim Roe **************************************** a message dated 7/18/2008 4:46:17 A.M. I Remember the Kallfelz Bakery name. They were out of Syracuse weren't they? Quite a prominent name way back in time. Yes, I got the wrong name on the Moose Lake issue - but the surname showed up again as I was reorganizing a closet - seeking items to take to the Antique Road Show that my wife got tickets to for this Saturday. As I have relatives in both the North and South, sometimes the pictures get mixed. I don't intend to do that, they just do - so this Galusha family portrait I have, may indeed be a Northern photo instead of the Southern photo I thought it was. Back to the Road Show, I've decided to take my great grandfather Parkhurst's pocket watch - an Elgin, to see what it's worth beyond sentimental value. I'm also taking a small collection of wall posters / calendars I've stored for several years - including a 1939 calendar in some sort of heavy nonpaper material; a mourning poster for William McKinley, some artsy ones, and a religious one or two. Once I got to rambling in my closet it was difficult to decide what to take - that would perhaps be of interest / value versus just sentimental or curiosity. I did discover that way back when - perhaps Chas or others would remember such? that when one bought a can / carton of Cocomalt one would get a puzzle inside. I also have a puzzle from Kallfelz Bros. (Snow Flake Brand Baked Goods) in Syracuse that I guess is from the 1940s? It was surprisingly colorful. At some point I need to put these puzzles together to see what picture(s) they make. Tim

Hi Joan, Have you looked at the Herkimer or Oneida County genweb site? I think I remember seeing a Cyrus Beebe and some other Beebes listed there -- maybe in the cemetery section. There is also a Waterville NY website that might have reference to Beebe family. (I think there was a Beebe who went to school in Waterville in one of my sisters' classes, but she might have lived in Brookfield.) Pat Stone ----- Original Message ----- From: "M. I have a date of death for a Cyrus Beebe can any one figure out which Cyrus this is and who his father was. According to an article regarding the Beebe Estate: Morrisville, Oct. 18th , 1909 In the question at issue in the Cyrus Beebe estate matter. Date of death is stated as July 6, 1909. This is where my grandfather Will L. Beebe is stated as being his grand nephew.
