Peter settled on the Myers homestead. Married 2 times. First marriage to Elizabeth, last name unknown Second marriage to STIVERS/STEVERS, Betsey. Known children of MYERS, Peter - 1st marriage James S. Wesley Monroe married Eliza TRIPP Anna married Peter YOUELL - William married Permelia Helen JENCKS Children of MYERS Peter & STIVERS Betsey - 2nd marriage Martin H. Albert M. Sarah E. Duane Peter Adelbert. PETER MYERS settled in the north eastern part of town and were among the first settlers. Son James is remembered as a musician who played all kinds of keyed instruments in the old Baptist Church along with Quartus Baron. He also made and played violins. James help build the Universalist church and cement walk, in 1871. He was building a large house on Fair Street, Patridge Park in 1873 when he fell from the roof and was instantly killed. Monroe worked on the second Baptist church. Son Martin was wounded during the Civil War at the battle of New Market, VA. on May 15, 1864 & died two days later.
