I'm researching information about my Grandfather, Jim. S. Smiley, who traveled the vaudeville circuit in your area during the early 1900’s as a trick shooter. He was sometimes called "Chief" Smiley and was an outstanding marksman. He lived in Canada most of his life. For many years he and a female performer traveled the vaudeville circuit in Canada and parts of the United States under the billing of "SMILEY AND HUTTON" as trick sharpshooters. I believe they performed sometime between 1903 and 1920 (perhaps in the old Griffin Theaters) where they took their show to portions of United States and Canada. I suspect this is an unusual request, but any assistance you could provide, like playbill information or dates they may have performed in your region, or even potential contacts would be deeply appreciated. Thank you very much. Regards, Wayne L. Smiley [email protected]
