    1. Re: [NYLIVING] Declaration of Intent to become citizen, looking for 1877
    2. There SHOULD be a copy at the County Historian's. I have one from earlier than 1896, but getting them to look for it was like pulling teeth!! Of course, that was a few years ago, so HOPEFULLY things have changed since then!! Good Luck, Joan In a message dated 4/18/2004 7:26:03 PM Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: The index to the Livingston County declaration of intent to become citizen lists my ancestor Jamed LOFT in 1877. But the book of these declarations before 1896 is not in the Family History Library microfilm. Can anyone help me find this record ? Does the book of records before 1896 exist in the County Clerk's Office ? Or are there copies anywhere else ?

    3. Amie Alden is now county historian as of Jan. 1 this year. (She has been deputy historian for several years before that.) I have been there often for a house history I'm working on for someone over the last year. She is very helpful, but has only one volunteer, and many requests via mail, phone, walk-ins etc. They will be moving in a few months where there is more space in the government complex that is in Mt. Morris. Same place where their county archives is. Cindy --- [email protected] wrote: > There SHOULD be a copy at the County Historian's.
