While looking thru some newspaper abstracts in the Livingston Republican, dtd April 11, 1850, Geneseo, Livingston Co, NY, I came across an article that talks about the "ALLEN's Tavern" I will reproduce the article incase anyone can relate to any of the other info: "Wm W JONES of Leicester, was the first male child born west of Utica. He was born in Geneva, Dec 1786. The first grist mill erected in this vicinity was built by Capt GANSON. Judge HOSMER, of Avon, built a sawmill on the Conesus, in 1796 - the first one in this region. The WADSWORTHS one the same year, on the same stream. Stn(??), who was the father of Horatio JONES' first wife, build the first framed house in the Genesee Valley. In 1794, all the inhabitants from the mouth of the river to Williamsburg - which was located near ALLEN'S Tavern, between this place and Mt. Morris - were Judge HOSMER at Avon, Gad WADSWORTH, Gilbert R. BERRY, Wm MARKHAM, Ransom SMITH, Peter SHNEFFEL, Wm HENEHER and Ebenezer MERRY. Solonom WOODRUFF was the first white settler in the town of Livonia, having removed to that town in 1793, in 1795 Phillip SHORT settled at the foot of Hemlock Lake."
