In Lima, NY there is a Michigan Ave that got its name because so many of the people who lived on this road moved to Michigan. Quite likely this is where your Eli Foote lived. This same thing occured in most Livingston County NY towns. They all have Michigan streets. I grew up in Lima. He was b May 7, 1797 in Bozrah, CT, & lived in Lima, Livingston Co., NY between 1831 & 1845 and then moved to Michigan.
