To add to Doug Morgan's records - From Mary R. Root's History of York: pg. 107 - "The first class of the Methodist Church [Greigsville M. E. Church] was formed in 1817. Among the early members were Urania Tuttle, Elmira and Diantha Orvis, E. Slocum and wife". pg. 127 - "In 1864 a number of people at Greigsville withdrew from the M. E. Church and formed a Free Methodist society.--------The society was organized by the Rev. Asa Abell, and was composed of the following persons: James Jones, Eleanor S. Jones, William McBurney and wife, George Slack and wife, Louise Osbun, Sylva and Urana Tuttle". pg 147 - Orvis, Alvira 1778-1851 - Greigsville Cemetery pg. 165 - Soldiers of the Revolution - "Orvis, Roger - Enlisted February 6, 1776, in Capt Watson's 8th Company, Col. Chas Burrell's Battalion, Connecticut. Was located in Norfolk, Conn., about 1817 came to Genesee County. Census of York, 1825 states: "2 male, 3 female" in household. Is buried on his farm at Greigsville, in what was an orchard. Tombstone broken and name almost obliterated. Dates gone. Died 1829" Dorothy R. Rooney
