She was born July 3, 1746, m. a Wells and a Stephen Hull. There are quite a few Wallers listed in England, in the 1400's and 1500's. That might be part of the line. My Babcock family lived in Livingston County later than Comfort in the late 1800's . Somehow there is a connection with the Babcocks since all the Babcocks are related. I'll do a little more digging to see what I can find. Laurien Babcock Fan

    1. [NYLIVING] Comfort B. Waller, Free Will Baptist Minister
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Waller, Batchelder Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iRB.2ACE/2689 Message Board Post: I am looking for any help or information regarding my ancestor, Comfort Babcock Waller. He was born in 1813 in what can be broadly classified as "Genesee County", which included Livingston County at one time. His parents are unknown, as are any siblings. He became a Free Will Baptist Minister around 1831 and moved to Ohio and later Wisconsin, where he died in 1891. He married Nancy Batchelder and had 8 children. All resources in current Genesee County have been pretty much exhausted, leaving me to turn to other counties that were once part of Genesee. Any help on this 15 year old mystery would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thank you!

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: sawdey, Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iRB.2ACE/798.1.1 Message Board Post: Interesting reading your reply to a previous post. Maybe we are looking for the same people. I have the following: The oldest person in my tree that I can find is based on a sentence from a county history book from Iowa. The sentence says: "The paternal grandfather of Mrs Parsons (Catherine Jane Sawdey, my great grand-aunt) was Benjamin Sawdey, a Welshman of Penn Yan, NY who served his country in the War of 1812." That is the total information that I have about him other than that he had a son named Elijah. Elijah was born in NY in 1805 and had similar law problems being arrested for disturbing the peace and assault in Penn Yan in 1825. He married a Catherine Briggs who was born somewhere in NY. His daughter Catherine Jane was born in NY in 1835. Sounds like the same people. I would love to learn more about Benjamin but its kind of difficult since there seems to be some unwritten law that says the one male child of every Sawdey family has to be named Benjamin.
