One must be open to all posibilities. I doubt you had to show proof of your name back then. I didn't find any other good matches. The town stuck out too. Plus she is listed as divorced in 1910 census. We also don't know if her other children are ligitamate either, could be her maiden name. The illigitmate birth could of caused the divorce. Maybe a divorce record would be listed in the county in Michigan for 1908-1910. Really can't rule out anything till all the pieces are together. What does the certificate say for the fathers name?

I had always assumed McKay was Minnies maiden name since, on my mothers original birth certificate, she was listed as illegitimate. also Minnies name on the certificate is listed as Mary but on the release for adoption papers she is listed as Minnie. IRENE A., roomer, 9, single, born Mich, parents Canada, student at school. Livng in a house with other people. Head of the house is Leonard Gray (age 44) and his wife Nellie married 5 years. George Bird, brother-in-law age 40 divorced. Ezara Gray, father (of Leonard) age 74. and another boarder Alex P. Goniwicha age 20 foreman at a Gas Co. Difference in the census info could be as simple as her daughter answered the door in 1930.

She moved with her family to Gainesville, Wyoming Cty about 1829 ir 1830 where she grew up. Shae married an unknown man with the last name of LORD, date and location also are unknown. Her name appears in the obituary of her mother, Electa KNIGHT MIX, with the last name of LORD and living in Dansville, Livingston Cty, NY at the time of her mother's death on 21 Apr 1841 in Gainesville. However, without knowing her husband's first name, I have been unable to identify his family and I have not been able to find Sarah M MIX LORD in any Census data exceppt possibly in the 1900 Censu for Buffalo, Erie Cty, NY, which lists a Sarah LORD as a cook. I am reposting my interests in the Bailey family in Livingston County. First, WILLIAM M. BAILEY who was born in New York State in March, 1852. He married EMMA BURDICK and they had 10 children, the oldest of whom was my grandmother. He was a farmer in the town of Avon from at least 1875-1910. I cannot find his date of death or where he is buried. I am also trying to establish that GEORGE BAILEY was William's father. George is listed in the 1865 state census in the town of Avon, Livingston County, with a wife, Pamelia, and a son William. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Fran Eustis Parachute, CO

Dean Kingsbury(1888-1974) lived in Caledonia at the time of his death. I would like to know more about his wife, Elizabeth(1891-?) Their son Eugene F. Kingsbury(1912-1994) also lived in Caledonia.
