    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/iRB.2ACE/2844 Message Board Post: I have access to the NYS Department of Health vital records index in Albany, NY. They have a records index dating from 1880 until 1954 for most of New York State. Certificates can then be ordered from the Department of Health and delivered in about 5 weeks when ordered here in Albany. I also research vitals from NY City at the Municipal Archives in Manhattan. They produce copies on site I can deliver the same day. Most vital records contain maiden names, parent's places of birth, occupation etc. Here is my link, maybe I can help: http://www.nyscensushunt.com [email protected]

    1. gatewayed messages to list
    2. FYI: Any time one receives an email from this list that starts with the phrase "This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list" That means that it is a post to the NYLIVINGSON message board on Rootsweb that is linked to this list. Any reply made to the list about the message board post will not be seen on the message board, only on this list. It is a one way link from the message board to the list, not the other way around. Therefore to reply to the person who made the post on the message board one must go to the board and do it. That person will not see the reply otherwise. I know this is confusing so if there are any questions please email me personally and I'll try to explain better. Thanks, Bob Sanders NYLIVING list administrator email address: [email protected]

My list of children for RJW and Lucy: David Henry Wilcox b. 7 July 1811 in Homer, Cortland, N.Y. married Adelia Artemecia Hopkins 3 July 1836 in Steuben Co., N.Y. Fanny Wilcox b. 1824 in Springwater, Livingston, NY. mar. Julius Higgins 27 Apr 1845 prob. in Springwater. Hannah Wilcox (date of birth unknown to me) mar. Aaron H. Root. 22 Mar. 1848 and second, John Weed. Eber Wilcox b. 1827 or 1828. mar. Marilla Robinson, abt. 1847? Eliza Wilcox (date of birth unknown) mar. David Lawton. One account says they "went west" and another says he drowned in the Spanish War. Harriet Wilcox (date of birth unknown to me) who married a Mack. I found a James Mack in Wolcott, Wayne, N.Y. on the 1880 with a wife named Harriet, age 48 (1832). This may be our Harriet. The other poss. was Solomon Mack age 64 and wife Harriet, age 51, in Hume, Alleghaney, N.Y. in 1880. One report by H. F. Johston said Ro! bert Johnson also had a 7th child named David who was b. in 1825 and married Elizabeth. (don't have any other proof of a second David). Seems to me that if David Henry did not die young, that they would not have named a second son David. Any information that you have on RJW's son Eber would be appreciated. Thanks. Diane

Surnames: Cruger Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iRB.2ACE/1286.1289.1292.1292.1 Message Board Post: It appears as if Jacob Welch Cruger died in Houston, 30 Nov. 1864. (Obituary in the Houston Tri-Weekly Journal, 8 Dec. 1864, page 2) He may be buried in the cemetery of Christ Episcopal Church, Houston, where there is the record of a Jacob W. Cruger, said to have been buried 18 Jan. 1866, age 54. Of course, the published record does not conform to the obituary, but I have not examined the stone or the original source. (Tombstone Inscriptions in Early Houston Cemeteries) I know of no other person by the name of Jacob W. Cruger who lived in Texas. His prominence in early Texas Republic and later Texas state history makes me suspect that the burial place is correct even if the data concerning the burial is suspect.

    1. Bessie Kennard b abt 1918 in Livingstone, New York
    2. Hi to the list. I am looking for descendants of Bessie. Her parents were Thomas Kennard b. 1888 in Brighton, Sussex England and his wife Isabel also b. in England. Thomas emigrated to the US in the 1900s. Worked as a fireman on locomotives, on the New Jersey lines, and his address was 15/16 Scottsburg, Groveland, Livingstone, New York, on both 1920 and 1930 US Census. WE have his WW1 US Draft details, from 1917 to 1918, so know he served for his new country. Relatives in England had contact with them until 1940s, but none since. I am hoping for some advice here. Can I search for a possible marriage for Bessie on line.? I have not found Thomas on SSD list either, but we are sure he didn't return to England. Is anyone able to do a lookup for him and Bessie please? We would love to make contact with Bessie and descendants. Hope someone knows where this family might be. We would really appreciate some help here, Shirley E Massie Simms, Kent, UK
