Searching for GRISWOLD, Edwin J. born 1854, VT. Found him in Chicopee, MA 1880 census with wife, Minnie J. BAKER b1859, New York state, and 3 children. Family history tells me that they were in Lyondale ? (Lyons Falls?) Lewis NY where he was killed in a papermill accident in 1884 or 94. Am looking for a copy of the death record there for him. I do not have parent names or place of birth for her, but if she was born in NY, it is possible she married there about 1875. I am told that she came back to Chicopee with her children where my grandmother Emma SMITH met her son, Edwin A. and married him in 1902. I met Minnie only once when I was little, was told she lived far away in Detroit. I am guessing she went there with family, a child maybe, and where I assume she was when she died in 1950 as I have not been able to find a death record here in New England. These people seemed to have gone where the mills were. Also searching Joseph BASSETT or BESSETTE supposedly born French Canada 1824, no place yet. He married Julia BOURBEAU about 1847, not sure. One couple bearing these names married in Canada, 1848, a date that is after the birth of the daughter I think is their first child. Several sources say Julia was born Canada, others say NY or Essex, NY. We are trying to find out if she actually was born in NY and if they were married there. She is said to have been born abt 1829. Her death record in Guilford, VT gives her father as Isah BEBEAU and her mother as Bessie <?> If anyone sees these names in their searching, I would appreciate a hello! Thanks, Barbara, in MA
