After having gone to beautiful and historic Savannah and then to Florida for a family reunion over the last two weeks, we stopped at Andersonville, Georgia, to visit the infamous Civil War prison camp in which thousands of northern troops were imprisoned. The grounds are well maintained and include examples of what the prison was like. The cemetery is very large and holds thousands of soldiers with a large number of gravestones that read "unknown."
