Hello Charmaine, There must be more than 1 Peter BAKER in Lewis Co. I don't know the distance from Boonville to Croghan. The listing for St. Stephen's Cemetery, Croghan, NY there is Peter BAKER 1833-1910, Mary Kampney, his wife 1835-1911, Jennie 1867-1905. I would like to find the parents of this Peter BAKER. I think he died 15 Nov 1910 in Croghan. In the Journal and Republican, Lowville, NY, Thursday, Nov 17, 1910 Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock occurred the death of Peter Baker a highly esteemed and aged resident of this village. Mr. Baker had been suffering from a cold for the past few days but there was apparently nothing alarming about his condition. Abour an hour before his death he was about his home as usual and his, sudden death, due to heart failure, was a great shock to his aged wife. He was a life long resident of this place and had a host of warm friends who will sincerely regret to hear of his death. Besides his widow he is survived by one son, Christopher Baker, of Michigan, and three daughters, Mrs. Christopher Krichmire, Mrs. P. H. Strife and Mrs. William Schindler, all of Carthage. Then in the 1850 census for Croghan, dwg #2110, Peter BAKER age 41, laborer, born Germany, Nancy, age 42, Michael age 8, Peter age 6. I would like to find the parents of this Peter BAKER as well.
