Hi, I think I'm at last on the trail of my G-G-Grandfather's parents. Joseph Crofoot moved from Berlin CT. to Leyden, Lewis county, NY in 1821. He died in 1829, but his name was listed on the 1830 Federal Census as head of household. It did not list him in the column showing he was alive. I am looking for information about the family he left when he died. Specially the name of his wife. I understand there was a NY Census in 1835. How/where could I find that to see if his wife is listed there? I know that Joseph was returned to Berlin, CT for burial, but his family remained in Leyden. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Pat
