Happy New Year to All: Seeking info on the couple, Thomas RETAN, b 1846/Canada, who married Emaline HUBBARD, b 1855/Great Bend, Champion, Jefferson Co., NY. They were married in 1873 in Black River. They had two children: Lewis, born 1875, Jefferson Co., and Grace, b 1877, Jefferson Co. I believe Thomas had a sister, Mary Jane RETAN, b 1842/Canada, who married William NOVELL in Watertown, NY in 1859 at the home of William and Tina MCNETT or MINETT. I think that Thomas and Mary Jane may have been orphaned at a young age. Both Emaline and Thomas had been residents of Champion, NY at the time of their marriage in 1873. Sometime after 1880 they moved across the county line to Lewis Co. NY. Thomas died in 1932/Copenhagen, Lewis Co., NY, and Emaline died after 1933 sometime. I know there was a pioneer HUBBARD family in Jefferson Co., brothers Joel and Noahdiah and others, but don't know how Emaline fits into these families. Thanks for any help!
