    2. Mathew Stillman Greene was born on May 5, 1811 in the Town of Pinckney, Lewis Co. New York. He was the son of Joseph Greene known as Dry Hill Josey Greene, Joseph was the son of Sergt Luke Greene and Lois Greene Greene, born in Berlin, Rensselaer Co., New York. Mathew's mother was Elizabeth Kenyon Greene known as Betsy who was the daughter of Rev. Wells Kenyon and Elizabeth Stillman Kenyon, born in Berlin, Rensselaer Co. N.Y. He married on June 16, 1833, in Adams, Jefferson County, Eliza Williams. B in Patterson, Putnam County, New York on Sept. 4, 1813 the daughter of William D. and Eunice Williams. They made their home in the Town of Adams, Jefferson Co., N.Y. until 1841. They had 5 Children.: 1. William M., B. May 5, 1834, Town of Adams, Jefferson County, N.Y. Married Mary A. Greene 2. Elizabeth M., B. Nov. 29, 1836; D April 27, 1837 3. Sarah D., B. Nov. 4, 1839, Married in Bellville, N.Y. Jefferson Co., N.Y. to Thomas Whalen of Queens County, Ireland 4. Mary A. B. Feb. 4, 1840, D Feb. 6, 1844 5. Lencha L. B. June 4, 1843, after her father's death, M in Adams Centre, N.Y. Aug. 28 1862, to James C. Heath, son of Albert and Betsey Kellogg Heath, B June 2, 1845 In 1841 Mathew and Eliza left Adams, N.Y. and moved with their family to the Town of Watson, Lewis County, New York as founders of the Seventh Day Baptist Church in Watson, New York. An area which became know as Seventh Day Settlement. Mathew died in Watson on March 18, 1843 at the age of 32 years and is buried in the SDB Cemetery, a deserted Cemetery in the Town of Watson, Lewis County, N.Y on a dirt road, off Peckham Rd., near the Gravel Pit.
