I am new to your list and researching the names KARLEN, GEISKOPF, HAVER and related families. David KARLEN indicated in a newspaper interview on his 80th birthday that he came to America from Switzerland in 1868 and settled in an area called Mohawk Hill, New York where his brother already lived. David later moved to the Boonville area in Oneida County. I am trying to determine who his brother was. The KARLENs married into the GEISKOPF and HAVER families and I wondered if they might not also be from the same area. Does someone have access to the 1870 and 1880 census index that could tell me if there are KARLENs living in the Mohawk Hill area? Also, what township is Mohawk Hill in?
