    3. Dear List, Don't be surprised if some of you have seen this posting already. It is a copy of a posting I earlier sent to the NYSTLAWR list. I am a descendant of Hiram Harris (b. VT, ca. 1805, d. St. Lawrence Co., 1878), Charles Harris (b. Annsville Tp., Oneida Co., NY, 1829, d. Oswegatchie, NY, 1907), Lyndon George Harris (b. Pitcairn Tp., St. Lawrence Co., NY, 1871, d. Lowville, NY, 1954), Everette Charles Harris (b. Fine Tp., St. Lawrence Co., NY, 1911, d. Watertown, NY, 1983). According to statements attributed to my grandfather, Lyndon George, and written down by my mother, the father of Hiram Harris (first name unknown) "was killed during the War of 1812 at the Battle of Sackets Harbor." Does anyone have knowledge of a list of casualties for the Battle of Sackets Harbor? I would welcome such information or any suggestion as to how I might research soldiers (or sailors) of surname Harris that might have participated in the Battle of Sackets Harbor.
