    3. Greetings All Now that I have tracked down my great grandparents, Christopher and Anna Everard, to villages in the Moselle Department in Lorraine, France, I am commencing a search for one of Christopher Everard's sisters named Appoline in France where she married Antoine Eugene Gerard. Up to this point I have not found anyone who is familiar with a single Lewis County Gerard family but at this point I am not giving up the search. Antoine and perhaps a James Gerard both served in the Civil War. My belief is that they are closely related perhaps to the point of being twins because both have the same birth date, at least according to an LDS record. Both are buried in St. Stephens Cemetery in Croghan as are a few other Gerards at the same location, including Appoline who was called Pauline, rather than Appoline, in some of the census records. It is possible that the Gerards moved to surrounding counties if they are not in Lewis. If anyone has information or suggestions, I would appreciate hearing from you. Ken
