Ooops! Sorry about that. The family that settled in Lewis County were the Hillmans. The ones that "passed through", and for whom these place names are given, were the Whites, who went from NY to IL, to MN, to Clay Center, Kansas. Part of the family went on to Washington State. Quite the travellers! It is very possible that they had passed through Lewis County prior to their migration elsewhere. Another possible thought is that they had siblings (brothers or sisters) who settled in Lewis County.
