Good Morning, I'm wondering if anyone can give me some information on some of my ancestors, mainly my ggrandfather, William Wirt Rice, who along with brothers Blair, and Yale, and also his father, Amos, had built tanneries at Croghan and Jerdon Falls. They also, according to a Great Uncle of mine who did the research some forty years ago, had bought a tannery at Beaver Falls. The company name was W&Y Rice. According to his research, they had built "dwellings, a boarding house, a store and a schoolhouse." This was in Jerdon Falls. I'm curious to know if any buildings remain, and possibly any family from this lineage still in the area. Any information would be greatly appreciated as I would like to visit the area soon.
