If you want photocopies of certs for people you find in an index, you can send a Request Form to the LDS photocopy unit in SLC. You'll need to include on the Request Form the Title and FHL Film # of the microfilm that each cert should be found on. This information is found in the Family History Library Catalog at: www.familysearch.org/eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp To get a Request Form go to: www.familysearch.org/eng/search/RG/frameset_rhelps.asp - At upper left click "Sorted by Document Types". On new page scroll down to "Requests for photocopies- census, books, microfilms....". This is form # 31768. Download and print out form. Put cert # in column all the way on right, where it asks for registration #. Copies are $2.00 each, minimum order $4.00. For eg. - in GGG I found : in NYC Death Index : FRISSE, Bernhard 61y Sep 8, 1896 Kings Co. # 16766 - I think right film is: Title: Brooklyn death certs, 1862-1897 FHL Film # 1323954 - (covers 16226 - 17675, 1896) FRISSE, Bernard 58y July 8, 1930 Manhattan #16844 - I think film is: Title: Death certs (Manhattan,NY),1919-1948 FHL Film # 2057743 (covers 16001-17000, 1930) FRISSE, Selma 85y Mar 17, 1933 Queens #1924 -I think film is: Title: Queens(NY) death certs, 1898-1949 FHL Film # 2148749 NYC Grooms Index: FRISS, Bernard Jan.18, 1894 Manhattan # 417 Probable film: Title: Manhattan (NYC)marriage records,1866-1937 FHL Film # 1439742 (15851-16144, 1893/ 1-900, 1893-1894) There seem to be quite a few FRISSE folks for you to check out in the various Indexes. Sending to the NYC Municipal Archives for copies costs $15 per certificate; whereas sending to the LDS photocopy unit only $2.00 each (min $4) - a big difference. Hope this helps.
