My great grandmother's ship manifest says she is going to see her husband and father at 64 Schermerhorn Street in Brooklyn. However, the only person I can find living at that address is a man named Robert Mehl (not related to me) who is listed as a sexton. Hard to be a sexton without a church so I assume that my great grandfather and grandfather were using the church as their address; however, the church that is there now (St. Constantine and Helen) was founded in 1913 and not of our religion so I'm further assuming that it took over the site of a previous church - most like Lutheran. Anyone have any idea what church would have been at 64 Schermerhorn Street in 1903 or how I would go about finding out? Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated!
