It seems that the Schermerhorn Street Evangelical Lutheran Church was located at 61 Shermerhorn St which makes sense as the sexton wouldn't live in the church itself. He was listed as the sexton in the city directory. I'm trying to find out what happened to the church's records in hope that they can shed some light on my great great grandfather, J.L.
