They were a family with one child and a brother of the head of houselold, Samuel, who was not married. They lived on 41st street between 12th and 13 avenue, not anywhere near Manhattan Avenue. More toward New Utrecht. There was one Mary A Beatty, 21, who lived on St. Johns Place with her family. Her father was from Ireland.I am not sure how close to Manhattan ave St. Johns Place would be. It seems to be some ways away when I looked on google. There appears to be a school and some apartment buiildings near where 188 Manhattan avenue would have been. They are not that old so were not around 100 years ago. Have you tried the Brooklyn Page Information Page online? www.bklyn-genealogy-info.com/ Perhaps it can give you the names of some foundling homes. She has some there, but it is not comprehensive as she puts the places up as people send them to her. But you may find something there. She has lots of Brooklyn Info. Good luck in your search.
