Dr. McCarthy's father, Dr. William McCarthy, was married to Catherine Barron whose family I am researching. Dr. William McCarthy practised medicine in Kingston Ontario. I do not know anything much about his ancestry. Dr. William Daniel McCarthy also had a brother practising medicine in Brooklyn. His name was Dr. John Barron McCarthy, born in Kingston in 1902. All the information I have been able to find about him is that he may have died around 1987. Both brothers graduated from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. Their uncle, Dr. Daniel McCarthy, practised medicine in Brooklyn and I am presuming that is why they both ended up there.
