An 18 year old named John Jolly had been "tramping" around New Jersey looking for work, injured himself seriously while trying to hop a freight train, someone in New Jersey took care of him and gave him fare back to Brooklyn but his grandmother, Mrs. Neefeldt of 317 Bedford-avenue refused to receive him so he went to the police station for help, they removed him to St. Catherine's Hospital. Also found in NY Times, Oct 13, 1931, page 41 W. Neifeldt of Brooklyn bought 5 acres of farmland in Monticello, New York. I can e-mail these two items to you, if you haven't seen them already.
