I don't know whether there is a difference between Denitition and Dentition, but I just looked up the 2nd word, and it means "the formation of the teeth." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dentition And I know that there have been many children in the past who had trouble with their new teeth - not being able to "cut through." A dentist would have to help the tooth along. I wonder whether that problem could also lead to death. If a dentist wasn't available and a parent didn't know what to do, the baby could get very sick. Also, my husband's grandmother was pregnant with twins when her husband was killed in a car accident in 1927. She delivered 2 boys a month later. Both boys died before they were two. She told her grandchildren that they died from their milk. She believed that the babies "drowned" in their milk. My imagination tells me that she meant "it went down the wrong tube." .. I tried the other spelling of this word and found this web page, which offers another problem: a baby putting his fingers in his or her mouth - for many reasons, but certainly because of teething pain. And, we all know about germs on hands and fingers. http://childhealthprevention.blogspot.com/2007/06/difficult-denitition.html And, speaking of "cutting teeth," don't forget all the problems which can happen when a young adult is cutting his or her "wisdom teeth." How many end up on antibiotics because of it. Betty (near Lowell, MA) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
