(I've had this happen with family who were hospitalized from their workplaces, for example, and so died across county lines.) You might need to check NYS records (searchable at NARA Albany or NYC), or even another state if they were traveling or visiting. SIck people are sometimes sent to a relative for care. That being said, I also have a couple of early 1890s Bkln deaths that I can't find, despite much searching in person in the NYC archives and NARA. I have come to wonder if there are some gaps in the Bkln records in the early 1890s. Have others found this to be a problem?
