Apparently many events were not filed with the county and some of those that were were not indexed correctly. You can try an online index at: http://www.italiangen.org/ This is a transcroption of the index at the Municipal Archives, so if you cannot find the certificate number you might be better off trying to figure out where the ceremony was performed. If you can get to the Archives there is record of Mariage licenses which is somewhat more comprehensive then the Index of Brides, but I don't know for sure what year they started it, nor do I know if the Latter Day Saints have a copy of it.
