Author: lnasello Surnames: smith, spyr Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.kings/15541/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My grandfather was William C Smith born at 8 pitt st in Manhattan, ny on Nov. 16, 1884. mother was Carrie Spyr age 19 at the time of the birth. father was William Smith age 26 in 1884. my grandfather married Anna Olney on May 1907. in Brooklyn, NY, my grandfather died Jan 24, 1948 at king park hosp on L.I. He lived at 1171 E 38th St. in Brooklyn, NY. I cannot find his parents William or Caroline Smith in any of the census. His death record does not have his parents name. His marriage record has his mother as Depolt not spyr. I am guessing maybe both parents died before 1900, since both parents arte missing from the census.
