(pun intended) I have had NO luck with parish records and even had an experience that left such a bad taste in my mouth that I have tried to avoid doing it again. Alas, I am at the point where I need to do so. I have also had several ancestors born in NJ but the census records go back and forth between recording NJ and NY Perhaps it was assumed or something.
