They were a very secretive group. I do know that James Francis Mc Cann (my great grandfather) was actually born in Armagh Ireland as was his father. Here is where it gets hazy. His mother supposedly remarried an Italian man who raised my great grandfather. His mothers name was Amelia Somers (not sure spelling) and she I think was raised in Massachusetts and her father was in high command during the civil war but I can't find out much more. James Franics Mc Cann married Helen O'Connor, who came from New Brunswick Canada. Sorry I can't add more but for some reason Katherine Mc Cann sounds familiar but can't bet on it.
