Joanne, Not sure exactly what records you have searched or where but I found two of the children's births in Kings County (Brooklyn), NY at Italian Gen: http://www.italiangen.org/ Winifred, Jan 27, 1897, Kings cert. #1378May, Aug 29, 1899, Kings cert. #14269 There's also a marriage record for a John Reynolds (no spouse noted) at same site: John Reynolds, June 8, 1889, Kings cert 2103. This date seems to match info on 1900 census. The marriage record would probably indicate if this was a first marriage for either of them. These records have likely been filmed by the LDS Family History Library.
