They married in 1914, but supposedly it was an unhappy marriage. Charles appears in the 1920 census, living in Garfield, NJ with his mother and siblings, but listed as married. In family obituaries from the 1926 and 1927, Bertha and Charles (listed as Carl) Zagora are said to be living in Brooklyn. Does anyone have city directories from this time - or later? I cannot find Charles or Bertha anywhere after the mid-1920s. I'm trying to find out if they stayed together (she is rumored to have left the marriage) and where both of them died.
