    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: mameyer118 Surnames: Adams, Bird, Stewart, Mc Cann, O'Connor, Doyle, Erye Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.kings/2326.3.1.2.1.1.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: This is one of the worst limbs on the tree to get info about. They were a very secretive group. I do know that James Francis Mc Cann (my great grandfather) was actually born in Armagh Ireland as was his father. Here is where it gets hazy. His mother supposedly remarried an Italian man who raised my great grandfather. His mothers name was Amelia Somers (not sure spelling) and she I think was raised in Massachusetts and her father was in high command during the civil war but I can't find out much more. James Franics Mc Cann married Helen O'Connor, who came from New Brunswick Canada. Sorry I can't add more but for some reason Katherine Mc Cann sounds familiar but can't bet on it. John was a laborer in a cork factory, and his sister an operator in a cork factory. They probably worked at the cork factory at 56 Columbia Hts., which was owned by my ggranddad's uncles. My ggrandad John Baldwin was the foreman until his death in 1917. The name of the factory was the American Cork Co. Hope this helps. 1. [NYKINGS] did common immgrants late 19th century have a will?
    2. Dean Reinauer
    3. Just wondering if its worth looking for a "will" for a very common person, Immigrant, late 19th century - to have a will......I don't believe they owned the property, Just rented- never, ever have been able to place on a census...and they died before 1900. If it wasn't common, was there any sort of transfer to children at all? One spouse followed in dying, one year later..... Thanks

Author: bbffrrpp Surnames: Hutchinson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.kings/15447/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello. I have just discovered that this Board (and List) existed. For the moment I'd just like to mention that I am interested in finding descendants of a John HUTCHINSON and his 2 married sisters who moved to Brooklyn in the 1860's. They were part of a large, extended family living on the large HUTCHINSON Farm in Winchester, MA. (That Farm existed from the 1700's to the 1900's in Winchester.) There is information in the archives of the Brooklyn Mailing List. And, I can provide more information when I take out my notes on the families. Betty (near Lowell, MA) My ancestor was Jacob HUTCHINSON. Jacob and his brother, Thomas, remained living on the Farm in Winchester (where 2 farmhouses existed). John was their other brother. I live in Oregon and have sent a lot of money to this cemetery to find out that my McAllister family has a plot in 10073 from the 1850's (no section #). I paid $19 each also for each grave certificate with no information except a fancy seal on it! I would love to know the inscriptions for Martha, Robert, Catherine & Sarah for any info; DOB, DOD, relationship, where born etc. Martha is my ggggrandmother, Robert her son, and I don't know who the others are. I would be glad to reimburse you for any expenses. Thank you! It is indeed hard to do some research from across the country.
