I did order the death certificate for William and I am pretty sure it's not the right one, some info did not match, shows he only lived in US for 12 years, occupation was cabinet maker I know in 1881 they lived at 88 1/2 Partition. I will look into the surname Onnes and see what I can find. Hopefully I will be able to find Regina's death record which may shed some light. I appreciate all of your help! Have a great weekend. I often see trees submitted by multiple people and although some have the same information, others may have different information. E.g. Bonde, Thord has 20 user submitted trees. Some have him married to Eda while others have him married to other women. Do I go by the majority? Are all 20 suppose to be the same person or could these be different Bonde, Thord's? What other questions should I be asking before I accept the information on One World Tree as my family? Thanks Mary **************Looking for simple solutions to your real-life financial challenges? They were all from Miltown Malbay, County Clare, Ireland, but I have their parents as Daniel McMahon and Catherine Kelley, per records. James F. According to Wilhelm's naturalization papers he was living in Williamsburg in 1873. I can not find him on any census or directories listed on ancestry. According to his son's Birth cert. he was a bookbinder and in 1881 they lived on Partition Street, have not seen Minnie's birth cert. to see what it says. Eventually, because of overcrowding, the site was moved to Long Island. When the State of New York assumed responsibility for the asylum, it eventually became known as Kings Park State Hospital. (However, originally it was known as "The Kings Park Lunatic Asylum.") There's an interesting article about the Kings Park Psychiatic Center at www.lioddities.com. If you go to the website, click on "Asylms," then "Kings Park." On a personal note, I too had relatives who were at the Kings County facility. when it was actually in Kings County, Brooklyn. When the Brooklyn site was closed, inmates were moved to Kings Park on Long Island. I did write to Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in Brentwood, NY a couple of years ago requesting family records. However, because of the New York privacy laws, they replied that they were not at liberty to verify or release patient records. They said: "If the information is being sought for general genealogy purposes , under agency policy and current interpretation of federal regulations governing privacy of individually identifiable health information, the information cannot be released." I do hope some of this is useful to you. Good luck. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
