Your local FHC probably has a subscription to Footnote which has several NYC directories on the site so you could try tracking them through the directories, starting with the 1884 address that you have, presumably from a birth certificate. Both first names are correct and year of the marriage is correct. On my grandfathers' marriage certificate mother's maidan name is caroline depolt, could be Depold. My problem is which last name to go by Spyr or Depolt. I tried both and found nothing in the census. Thank you for your help Loretta in Florida. He lived at 1171 E 38th St. in Brooklyn, NY. I cannot find his parents William or Caroline Smith in any of the census. His death record does not have his parents name. His marriage record has his mother as Depolt not spyr. I am guessing maybe both parents died before 1900, since both parents arte missing from the census. William was the first born child in 1884, maybe parents married in 1884, do not have there marriage record. can anyone out there help me find william and caroline smith. thank you Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I called the Riewerts Memorial Funeral Home in Paramus NJ and they verified for me that the parents of Hazel Velma Sammis-Kabbel are Wade Hampton Sammis and Margaret Jane Dobson. Went to FamilySearch.org and found verification that Wade Hampton is the son of Sidney Leon and Margaret Ann Ryer and it appears that Sidney is the son of Moses Sammis and Harriet Anna Crocker. Moses seems to have married twice, second time to Jemima. This has been a wonderful addition to our search. Found the marriage cert for Sidney and Margaret on Italian Genealogy.org, from Kings County NY 1875. Ordered a copy today. If you have further info on Wade, Sidney and Moses I would greatly appreciate receiving it. I have an old picture of Wade and Margaret as well as a picture of Hazel Velma with her sisters Marjorie Sammis-Swartz and Harriet Sammis-Teter. Once again that you for all you assistance,we are thrilled.! Carol Kabbel Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding this fire.
