Author: wyominggirls Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.kings/16396.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The family you referenced in the 1920 US Census is the family I am related to. I was also able to find them in the 1910 Census living in Brooklyn Ward 28, Kings County, NY. I also found them in the 1905 New York State Census living in Brooklyn. That's where it ends. I know my Grandmother, Rose, the daughter of William and Bertha was born abt. 1890, so the family must exist before 1905. Yikes, it's making me crazy. I am so grateful for your help. I've tried looking for your family with Röessler, Roessler, Rossler, Roeffler, Ro*, adn *sler. I've also looked for WM., Wilhelm, William and other forms of William. Also, for William no surname and wife Bertha. And have found nothing. You should try taking their location from the 1905 and 1910, find the area in 1900 census and look page by page. Good luck. I am fairly sure this is the family I am looking for. I say this because, I know my Grandmother had a brother named Albert (who my older siblings met many years ago). I am so confused. I found the same family on the 1905 census for the State of NY. But prior to that....NOTHING. Any suggestions? I appreciate your help! I have hit a wall Searching for my paternal Grandmother, Rose Roessler Parents (according to NY 1905 census) were William and Bertha Roessler. Siblings, Lizzie, Bertha and Albert Approx. year(s) of birth 1888-1891 I have done searches through the NYC Municipal Archives (yrs. 1886-1890). Also, State of NY Department of Health (yrs. 1889-1891). No luck there. I am wondering if maybe Rose's father was married prior to Bertha, and may have had Lizzie and Rose from that marriage.
