It was interesting though in that it said Mary was born Ireland whereas Margaret's death certificate said Mary was born in Germany, maiden name Nuller. I thought it would be more likely Muller but looks like Nuller. Margaret was born in New York City about 1902 as died at age 21 on July 6,1923. Her father was John O'Keefe born in New York. Anyway, the address on the 1919 letter, on the 1920 census, and Margaret's death certificate all said 172 Norman Ave. so must have right person. Looks like burial in Calvary but writing is very faint there. Margaret was a saleswoman according to death certificate. Thanks again so very much. Prior to that, I had a letter written by Margaret's mother, dated 1919, in which she stated that Margaret was living with her and she was in need of financial help. Her mother signed the letter as Mary Synch and she was living at 172 Norman Ave., the same address as when Margaret died. Mary did say that she was remarried but didn't give the first name of Mr. Synch. Margaret's father was John O'Keefe as per the death certificate. I don't know when or if he died. Could anyone find this family in 1920? I couldn't find them. Should be Mr. Synch, Mary and daughter Margaret Benham. I don't think Margaret's husband would be there but if he was, his name was John Vernon Benham. He was a merchant seaman in 1920 so could be away. Thanks for any help Peggy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Sheet 81A and subsequent were reserved for transients in camps, flophouses, etc. The census taker left forms to be filled out in homes he could not get answers on his initial sweep through his ED, and when he picked up the forms later, he transferred the information to the regular form that we now can see. Enumerators were instructed to destroy all sensitive material that they had in their possession. Thus the filled in forms I have (6 total) are very rare. Don't expect too many of these to surface. Aug.28, 1892 Kings Co. # 3671 You can order a copy of the marriage cert by sending a Request Form to the LDS photocopy unit in SLC. Copies are $2 each, minimum order is $4.00. You'll have to include on the Request Form the Title and FHL Film # of the microfilm that the cert should be found on. This information is found in the Family History Library Catalog on familysearch.org. To get a Request Form go to: www.familysearch.org/eng/search/RG/frameset_rhelps.asp - at upper left click on "Sorted by Document Types". Then scroll down to where it says "Requests for photocopies - census, books, microfilms...". This is form # 31768. Download and print out form. I suggest you send a money order rather than a check, it'll go faster that way. Put the cert # in the column all the way on the right, where it asks for registration #. I believe the right film would be: Title: Marriage certs (Brooklyn,NY),1866-1937 FHL Film # 1561869 Hope this helps. I have the filled in "Preliminary Population Schedule" for the Max Krevoff family who lived on Bay Parkway in Brooklyn in 1940. This form was given to families that were not at home when the census taker initially came. They filled it out, and then the census taker picked it up later. These "absentee" people were placed starting on page 61 of the 1940 census. The Krevoff family appears on page 62A of 24-1679 ED for 1940. The interesting thing about the preliminary form is that it contains the supplementary questions/answers.... although the family on the "official" form does not fall on the lines that would generate such responses. If you are a member of this family, contact me about getting this form. There is no Krevoff family board or else I would have posted this there. I am not sure if somewhere along the line your family & my husbands family have crossed lines. To our knowledge Ella Mae was married to John William H Kruger. They lived in New York City, for their entire lives. *as far as we know*. To our knowledge Ella had 6 or 8 children. We are not sure. We also believe she at one point was married to a Freeland. She was then widowed from him, married Kruger. Was widowed from him. That is where we are now. trying to break thru this wall. I hope this bit of information we have will help you and maybe any information you have may help us. Thank you for your time. Rose Kruger.
