The certainties are that he was listed as age 7 in the 1920 census and in the 1930 census he was not listed at all. That means he must have been born in 1913. I know he lived with his parents William Ziegler and Edith Martin, and his many brothers/sisters in Brooklyn, in the East NY section. I know he was in WWII and lived in Colorado because my mother was there when my father was stationed in Colorado and purely by chance did they see each other in a supermarket. At that time he was married to someone I think was named Ann and had a daughter named Margaret. I have a photo with them in it. After that chance meeting in Colorado, he disappeared again. That's the last anyone saw or heard from him. Chances are very likely he's deceased by now. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I've tried searching online, but haven't found anything that looks right. Does anyone know how to search for historical (1930-1950) criminal court records for Kings County? I checked FamilySearch for Kings Court records, but didn't find any listings. All the online search sites or mail-in requests seemed to be for 1987 forward. Family legend has it that my great uncle George Ryan (September 1916 - June 2007) was incarcerated at one point for murder. I've located the family living at 88 Cedar Place in Brooklyn in the 1940 Census, but George is not there. When I asked older relatives, they said that might be because that was when he was in prison. Now that George has passed on, I'd like to try and find out what is fact and what is fiction. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! --Helen Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The other is my great grandmother Mary Morgan Gallaudet. It is her mother Mary McColgan Morgan that is buried in the grave. And she, too was born in Ireland. They are buried in St Peters Range B Plot 15. I donot have any other McColgan. Wish I did. I think Bridget and Mary were sisters and that they came over together. I am now trying to find them on a ship manifest to see when. I don't go into Brooklyn too often. I live in Queens more near the Nassau border so am aways from it. There are also links to some books and many more links to come in the future. If interested visit: [1]http://www.nycnuts.net/new_york_books/ References 1. http://www.nycnuts.net/new_york_books/

My great great grandfather, Hugh Colgan/ McColgan was buried in Holy Cross on Oct. 24, 1864. He is buried in a McColgan plot. the cemetery is only able to confirm he is interred there. They can not provide a plot location as records were not kept detailing location in 1864. I do however recalling visiting the plot which appeared to be in the locus of the St. Peter's section and faced the main entrance gate. There is a tall headstone with many names. The cemetery suggested finding a relative buried in the plot which has proved unsuccessful. Any help appreciated . Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
