The BROWNs and BRAYTONs seem to have a long-lasting association. One of these is Lucinda Ann BRAYTON, daughter of Stephen and Catherine (COLEMAN) BRAYTON, b. 1847 Rock Island, IL, m. Benjamin FrankliN BROWN 1868, d. 1881. Benjamin, son of Richard, is my great grandfather. CADWELL and MOTT are the other surnames in Jeff that are allied with my paternal family. William Carson CADWELL m. Lenore MOTT 1873 in IA. Lenore is the daughter of Rebecca MOORE BROWN MOTT, Richard's wife who married Platt MOTT after Richard died or disappeared. That's it in a nutshell.
