Clayton-Mrs. Louise D.Tiernan 83,formerly of the Three Mile Creek rd.,widow of George Tiernan,died Nov 21 1977 at Mercy Hospital where she had been transferred from the Madonna Home. A private funeral was held at the Cummings Home Clayton.Burial was in St.Lawrence Cemetery town of Cape Vincent. She is survived by two sisters,Mrs. Howard(Lottie)Haller,Clayton and Mrs. Willis(Lena)Bass,Watertown.two brothers,Charles and William Dixon and two sisters,Mrs.Fred(Flora)VanAlystyne,and Mrs.Elbridge(Ethel)Johndrow died before her. Born on Wolfe Island June 28 1894,a daughter of William C.and Jennie Duggin Dixon,she was graduated from the Clayton Training Class and taught in the local schools. She married George D.Tiernan Aug 27 1930.They bought the Alvin Hasner farm on three mile creek rd.and resided there.Mr. Tiernan operated a garage in Depauville and died Mar 19 1942 at the age of 51.
